Hi, I have been involved with Amateur Radio since 1996, although I had almost completely given up on the hobby while away at University, and have only very resonantly been getting involved with it again.
Now that the Morse Code requirement has been dropped in the UK I have bought myself a new Yaesu FT-817 QRP HF/VHF/UHF rig together with the MFJ-971 ATU which seem to make a good pair.

I am an active member of Derby Raynet, and have recently started trying RTTY and SSTV using Ubuntu Linux.
