Rob, M1BGT's Homepage

Amateur Radio is a hobby enjoyed by all kinds of people, of all different ages, from all around the world.

It is not simply chatting to people in other places around the world on the 'short wave bands', it involves much, much more. Some aspects include chatting to local people on the repeater system, contacting some one else where in the world via five or six satellites, connecting your computer and radio with packet radio, reporting your position to other Radio Amateurs with APRS, bouncing signals off the moon and back (Earth Moon Earth (EME)). There are too many areas of amateur radio to mention here.
